What RIGR does when the network fails
Storms knock out power, and networks slow down or drop when everyone in town tries to call at once. That's usually when you need to reach your people.
RIGR can still connect
RIGR moves to one that's still up
Switch to off-grid mode
Two modes, one 5.8 oz radio
RIGR isn't a phone app. It runs on RIGR PoC with its own high-gain antenna, and it has a UHF radio built in.
Talk to your whole group, anywhere with RIGR PoC coverage
Hold the orange key and everyone in your group hears you at once, down the street or across the country. There's no number to dial and no app to open, so kids and grandparents can use it too.
- Works in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and most other countries, at no extra cost
- Groups of up to 5,000 people
- Talks to Echo and Echo Pro radios
Talk radio to radio when you are off the grid
When no network is available, RIGR talks directly to other radios nearby over built-in UHF. It covers the house, the job site, the ranch or the camp.
- Direct linking straight to other radios
- 2-watt UHF, the most power the US and Canadian rules allow for license-free handheld radios
Radios from the same order arrive set up and grouped, so they talk to each other straight away. Need to change groups or add radios later? Our team does it for free, for as long as you own the radio. If you'd rather manage it yourself, we can set up an admin panel for you.
RIGR vs. the usual options
Network walkie-talkies go far but need coverage. Regular walkie-talkies work without coverage, but only nearby. RIGR has both modes.

What you say stays in your group
Connection in global mode is encrypted with AES-256 and only reach people in your group. RIGR doesn't track where you are, and nothing you say is backed up or stored.
Off-grid mode uses an open UHF channel like any two-way radio, so keep private conversations on global mode.
Up to 5 days on a charge, and fine in harsh conditions
It handles rain, splashes and dust, and charges over USB-C.
Weatherproof, not waterproof, so don't submerge it. Don't leave it in a hot car either. Battery life depends on use, signal and temperature.
Just as useful on a normal Tuesday
The same radio works for crews, ranches and property teams.
Job sites and crews
One press reaches the whole crew, even at another site.
Ranches, cabins and forestry
Global mode where there's RIGR PoC coverage, off-grid mode where there isn't.
Property and security teams
Everyone on the grounds in one group, with no phone tag.
What Echo Radios customers say
We bought a two pack for use during hurricane in Fla. I recently took a trip to Indiana over 1100 miles away worked flawlessly very satisfied with the way these work. I highly recommend these radios to anyone thinking about buying a two way communication system
I live in Australia. Left a device on the Gold Coast Queensland and flew to the other side of the country to Perth in Western Australia which 3642 km / 2263 miles and works perfectly. Now to add more devices for the family and set up channels for each group. No matter the situation we can be in touch
I bought 2 to use for communications between me and my other bus driver in Washington, DC and these radio's worked amazingly!! Crystal clear and never missed a word that was said! I am going to buy 6 more and hopefully talk my bosses into buying these for all of our charter buses instead of the traditional UHF radio's we currently have! I highly recommend Echo radio's!!!

Questions, answered
Is RIGR just a phone with a walkie-talkie app?+
No. An app runs on your phone's antenna, network and battery. RIGR runs on RIGR PoC with its own antenna that reaches 3 to 4 times farther, switches to the strongest network on its own, encrypts calls with AES-256, lasts up to 5 days on a charge, and has a UHF option for when there's no network.
Does RIGR work when the networks are down?+
Yes. In off-grid mode RIGR radios talk directly to each other over UHF, up to 10 miles apart in open terrain.
How far can RIGR reach?+
In global mode there's no distance limit, so your group can be across town, across the country or abroad. Off-grid mode reaches up to 10 miles in open terrain, and less around buildings, trees and hills.
What is RIGR PoC?+
PoC is push-to-talk technology: hold one key and everyone in your group hears you, with no distance limit. On RIGR it runs global mode. The built-in UHF radio covers the times when there's no network.
What does it cost after the first year?+
$20 per radio, per year. There's no monthly bill and no contract.
Do I need a license?+
Not for global mode. Off-grid mode transmits at 2 watts, which is the most power the US and Canadian rules allow for license-free handheld radios.
Does it work with my Echo radios?+
Yes, in global mode. Off-grid mode only works between RIGR radios.
Is it waterproof?+
It's weatherproof and dustproof, so rain, splashes and dust are fine. Don't submerge it.
Does RIGR work outside the US?+
Yes. Global mode works in Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and most other countries. There's no special version to buy and no extra fee. Take it with you and it connects.
Can I change groups or add radios later?+
Yes. Email us and our team sets it up for free, for as long as you own the radio. We can also give you an admin panel if you'd rather manage groups yourself.
